Single-use, non-sterile, in vitro diagnostic device, with the function of aiding diagnosis.
The device is designed to house and protect histological samples undergoing specific treatments (processing, embedding and cutting) in the workflow of a pathological anatomy laboratory.
The sample is traced thanks to the unique identification of the cassette with writing.
Finally, the 'block' (cassette + paraffin sample) is used as a filing medium.
The device, as a support, is intended to be used:

• Associated with manual IVD devices (e.g. filters, sponges, moulds...)
• Associated with mechanical - automatic IVD devices (e.g. processors, microtomes...)
The device is a fundamental component of the operational process of a pathological anatomy laboratory that, once properly completed, allows trained and experienced personnel to make a diagnosis on the processed biological specimen.
